Please note, this is just a collection of Android Apps that we found useful and were popular in 2016 (and which are still popular now). By no means is this list exhaustive or based on any formal data collection made by ourselves.
Single-handedly eliminating the need to download any music ever again (that used to fill up your Android’s precious storage space), Spotify makes listening to music on-the-go or at home incredibly simple. Do note, there is a monthly fee but in our opinion, it’s well worth it for the seemingly endless library of albums and singles.
2. Pokémon Go
The world-wide 90s craze that was Pokémon made a mini-revival in 2016 with this fun app. Mimicking the original ‘gotta catch ‘em all’ concept, this app taps into your phone’s GPS function allowing you to track down virtual Jigglypuffs and Pikachus strategically placed all over the world.
Rending the mobile phone’s original in-built function of making phone calls to family and friends pretty much redundant, WhatsApp is an all-in-one communications app that lets you call, video, and instant message any of your phone’s contacts.
Another app that is available in various different forms (i.e. desktop version, iPhone), Uber lets you grab a taxi anytime, anywhere through the press of just a few buttons on the screen.
5. TuneIn Radio
This free-to-use radio player lets you listen to thousands of different radio stations live, which are broadcast from all over the world. With its search by genre or artist function, you can discover new radio stations playing your favorite music that you’d never heard of before.
